Well, we're here and we like it

Whew - we're about totally moved in now. Susan's into the Holiday (alright Christmas) Season at the Myrtle Beach Dillard's store, Sally's in Dallas (stayng with Cynthia) finishing out the year with AA for retirement bennies, and I'm here @thebeach buying stuff, having fun, getting the house squared away, getting more stuff, and watching the waves roll in. Drop me a line, or make a comment. And listen to The Surf.Com for some really good music.

We're actually getting settled in a bit

The drive out was extremely difficult and stressful, but we made it, the sun's finally out, and we're trying to get settled in. Most of the boxes have been either opened and emptied, or moved to storage, along with some of the pieces we couldn't sell before we left. But we're getting there.

Saw our first Christmas Boat Parade last night - really cool. Our buddy Sandy invited us over and we watched it from her back deck. I took some video's and when I figure how to post it here, I'll do just that (a highly edited version, just for you all).

Thanksgiving went very well, just family. Everybody pitched in to make at least 1 dish. Our very first Bird@thebeach.

Sally's headed back to Dallas tomorrow, Susan's already started at Dillards (she worked Black Friday), Carrie's back at the Aquarium, and me(?), I'm trying to finish up all the unpacking and get back into the groove.

Now you all can help - sign up for a newly created pre-launch site that's free and can earn you points towards ownership. I'll let them eplain it all at http://www.taketheinternetback.com/index.php?refId=5603

We're Here

After 3 days of ardous driving 2 trucks, each hauling an SUV (my Pathfinder and Susan's Escort), through driving rain, and whizzing semi's, we finally made it, and we're here @thebeach. We offloaded both trucks yesterday, and now the equally arduous taks of unpacking begins. What a treat. I'll post again when I have more time.

Friday, November 10, 2006

We're Almost Gone

Yep! The truck's coming tomorrow morning, and we're gonna get all packed up. Sunday is for house stuff and minor catchups, Monday's closing, then we're outta here. Remember, Sally is still here, staying with Cynthia, through the first of the year.

We just wanted to say good-bye to everyone who reads this and that we've known oh these many years. 28 years in Dallas, 23 years in this Richardson house. That's quite a gig for me, knowing I used to move once every 18 months growing up an Air Force brat. That's why I call myself a "Native of Earth."

For me, personally, I just wanted to says thanks to all you all. The friendships and support, the pool parties, cook-offs, dinner parties (Jan's 40th the best ever), ski trips, Christmas parties, gab fests, and trips to ^H2O. Fondue parties, trips to Austin, trips to Cabo, pretend shaggin', and the infrequest road trips.

What a ride it's been. And even though we're moving to a place (the beach) we've really wanted to retire to, it's going to be difficult leaving all you all. This town, the traffic, the pace, we ain't gonna miss all that much, well, maybe the good Tex-Mex. But all the people and friends, most definitely. So, TTFN, or Ta Ta For Now, and we'll talk again soon.

I'll keep this blog going once we get there to catch everyone up on the trip, the move, and other odds and ends. See you @thebeach.

Closing is now set - D3

November 13th is D3, Done Deal Day. We're in the midst of boxing and packing 23 years+ of STUFF. But I'm taking time out to post this so's we can all catch up a little.

Sally's staying here for awhile (till after the first of the year) to max out her AA bennies, but Suz & I are headed to the beach, probably the on D3 itself. The Saturday B4 is for truck loading and final packing. Then final walk through's and memory trips.
And that's not all, as the S&S girls welcome you to our home at the beach, Susan will be joining the MYR Dillard's, so beach shopping is a major option.

As a repeat from the previous blog entry, if you don't have our new beach address please send me an email & I'll send it to you. I don't want to post it here, for obvious reasons.

That's it for now - we'll talk again.

2 weeks to go and counting .............

Well, you heard it. That's right, just 2 weeks to closing. The countdown is still moving ahead, and we should have blast-off Nov 13th, day-o-closing.

We're going to use a rental truck, so our day-o-packing up will be Saturday, 11/11. Then we'll actually head out 11/14, bright and early. If you interested in any of the stuff listed in the previous blog (scroll down), just let me know. Most of it's already on Craig's List for the DFW area. It's also posted on http://www.shagmiser.com/furniture. The video storage cabinet has been sold.

Does everyone have our new beach address? If not, send me an email & I'll send it to you. I don't want to post it here, for obvious reasons.

Also, have you found the new Jukebox site? - nothing commercial - just a cool site to listen to oldies while you're frettering away on the IH. It's at http://shagmiser.com/windfalls/oldies.html. Enjoy.

Hey all - do me a favor and check out the hyperlinks over to the right. Especially the one about Creating Multiple Streams of Income and Dick's Cool Little Website. I either created them or used a template to create them.

Enough for now - we'll talk again.

One month to go and we close!!!!

Check out that addition to our sign - we're "Contract Pending!"
That's right sportsfans, we're only a month away from our closing date of November 13th. We're heading on down that highway in 1 month's time. And, we're already making moving plans, checking estimates, doing some early packing, and planning for a final yard sale in a week's time (I think). We want to sell off some items we don't want or need @thebeach.

Also, we have some rather large items we'd like to sell as well, odds and ends we're not taking with us. If you would like to see what we're selling (just in case you might could use one of our items), check the DFW Craig's List, search using Shagmiser and you should bring up all the stuff I've posted out there. And, no, the bar's not for sale. But, we are selling:
  • my rather large executive desk (the one in the back den),
  • the large, kitchen refridgerator,
  • the entertainment TV center,
  • Susan's grandfather clock (great new low price),
  • those 2 eight foot folding tables (great for parties and garage sales),
  • a video storage cabinet,
  • a double dresser (no mirror),
  • full sized microwave and rolling microwave cart.

How 'bout them apples? I plan on building a web page to picture these items and I'll post the URL here when's it's ready.

BTW - I've put up a new post to my Shagmiser Blog - check it out.

I've got a new niche site (kind of) that could be useful to some - Honey! We're Rich! I've already asked some of you to critique it. Thanks for your feedback.

Now, since it is Friday the 13th, let's stay with the program here. Many of you have heard me telll tales of the famous Windigo. Here are a couple of references:

By Jove, I think We've Done It !!!!!

That's right. Their "backout" deadline has passed, and we're on our way to closing, mid November. Our special thanks to Connie Thomas, our RE agent, St. Patrick, and especially St. Joseph. And a special thanks to Susan, without whose help the house would never have looked so good.

Foundation's done, and the only thing left to do is some small minor fix-up's we promised to do. Now, it's pack time. We're @thebeach as I write this. I'm behind the window in the front office, upper left above the car. This is the actual house that will be our new home. We're trying to figure out where to put stuff, what to put into storage, what to toss, and (most important), how to start expanding for future guests. If you'd like to see more beach house pictures, visit http://www.digitalshores.com and click on the Hale Beach street sign. Do it quick before my video distracts you.

For those of you who don't know, we're moving to North Myrtle Beach, S.C., to a house we bought a little over 2 years ago and in which my sister's been living since, taking care and letting us visit. It's about 5 blocks off the beach in a secluded residential neighborhood. Not bad!

Did you all check out Ralph's music new venture - the Burn Lounge? It's pretty amazing.

Now, heads up, I've just joined a new networking community space called the Opportunity Meeting Place (dot) Com and it's a "MySpace" kind of place for Internet Marketers of every ilk, a place to get together and swap stories, both success and scams.

And, I've still got a few 30 day prepaid offers left for Hello World and the world of video emails and streaming internet videos. Their V5.0 is due out this weekend, so now's a good time to get in before the rush. Once my prepaid codes are gone, they're gone. My special site with examples of streaming video, including me, myself & I.

We're Almost There

I cannot believe we're almost there. It's been awhile since my last post, but we've been through all the various "back-and-forths," inspection reports, and final negotiations, and we're about there. We still have to do the foundation (starts tomorrow), but the other "fixer-uppers" they requested were really minor and well within the scope of our abilities and pocketbooks. So, if nothing happens between now and midnight of the 28th, we're there. They've asked for a Nov 13th closing, so we've got over a month to get our butts in gear and out of here.

Did you all check out Ralph's music new venture - the Burn Lounge? It's pretty amazing.

Susan got a chance to talk to her Dillard's folks @thebeach and she's set to transfer, at her convience. That means we can all go together and she will not have to either move earlier or later than me and Sally.

Now, heads up, I've just joined a new networking community space called the Opportunity Meeting Place (dot) Com and it's a "MySpace" kind of place for Internet Marketers of every ilk, a place to get together and swap stories, both success and scams.

Second Offer now a Reality

Well, we do have a second offer. It came in right after I sent out that St. Patrick's Irish poem email. So between St. Patrick & St. Joseph, something seems to be working.

The first offer fell through becuase of the way the DFW area has treated our foundation, it lowered it. Yeah, we discovered we had a "slight" out of standard foundation we have to do something about. Well, the second prospective buyers are aware of it, naturally, and we are getting it corrected. But their offer was fair and of course contingent. Now we're just waiting on their inspection guys and whatever other shoe may drop. But if we go forward, we expect to close (and be out of here) by mid November, so you all are stuck with us for awhile.

In the meantime, we're all staying busy. Susan is talking to the Dillard's Beach management tomorow (she and Sally are @thebeach right now (and I'm here?). Sally will probably stay with AA through the first of the year given druthers and options, and I'm happy anywhere there's a PC.

More interesting sites: Free video and vioce emails at www.springdoo.com. But the really good stuff is at my video home, Hello World ............ prepaid 30 day account.

Someone in the Wings????

Well, that first offer fell through, mainly because we just found out this Dallas summer has really cost us. Because of the hot, dry heat, water restrictions, et all, we developed foundation problems over the summer, something we didn't have back in the spring. That's what caused our first potential buyers to back out.

But we're not throwing in the towel yet (or should I say the trowel). We're going to go ahead and fix the problem. Shoring up the foundation, so to speak. Besides, rumor has it we may have another interested buyer in the wings, so we're having Briggs keep his paws crossed.

Ralph just started a new music download business called the Burn Lounge. CHECK IT OUT.

Sally & I are headed to the beach for the Pavilion Closing Party, meeting my brother Robin & his wife Kathie there for one final fling at the oft mentioned but not-to-be-forgotten Wild Mouse the end of this month. That's the place where I spent many a fond memory growing up on the beach (not the Mouse, the Pavilion).

NEXT!

Well, our first serious offer got nixed. Buyer backed out, so we're back to square one. Which means we're still here, and really not going anywhere yet. Enough for now, just be aware that we still have time to get around and see everybody, Lord willing and the creek don't rise.

We are continuing to work on the house, especially the pool deck, etc. If something cool happens (like another offer), I'll let you all know.

Our First serious Offer

OK OK oK - so it's been awhile. But I've had nothing to report. Now I do. We've had our first real offer, which we xountered, and they accepted, as of today. So the ball is really starting to roll. All we've got to do now is pass inspection, and they pass on financing. Keep your fingers and toes crossed, we just might move this puppy yet.

Now, if you want to see me in action in a video, check out these sites:

Finally, our first offer

Yeah! We finally got our first offer on the house, from a broker, and all he did was low-ball us, something fierce. So we're back to square one. That offer ain't going nowhere. In the meantime, we're still having quite a few showings, and they've picked up what with school starting just around the corner (or in our case, just down the block a bit).

Enough of that - got a new opportunity for everybody. Not gonna talk about it much, just tell you to go there and check it out for yourself: http://shagmiser.ProWealthSuccess.com/?SOURCE=blog

But if you want to catch a ride on one of the fastest growing segments on the internet, video emails, you have got to check http://www.helloworld.com/cyberopportunities.

Another Open House

We had another open house this past Sunday, and over 10 folks showed up to take the tour. That's a goodly number. Unfortunately, no serious takes as of yet. But our hopes remain high.

If anybody has any pictures from the DS&S Party on 7/22 they'd like to share, please send them to me and I'll post them to the DS&S Farewell Party website.

You all know John Smith, right? Well, he and I have just formed a Joint Venture of sorts. He's got this great programmable hardware device that can limit access to the Internet, or any phone, cable of DSL line. It actually programmitically blocks the line itself, not allowing any traffic to go either in or out during certain times that you set. See the full description. It's called the ..............................

The Ultimate in PC Internet Protection

The Total Internet Access Controller is the last word is internet safety. Using a programmable hardware device, it completely shuts down access to your PC from the Internet whether you're on dial-up, DSL, or a Cable modem. To see what it is we're talking about, go to www.digitalshores.com/tiac.

John designed and built these things, and I'm going to help market them over the Internet & eBay. BTW, the prices we've set are cheaper on eBay than the website, so search for us there first.

And the Beat Goes On ................

Let me see. The last time I posted was back on July 18th. And guess what? Except for a lot of new folks looking, 2 repeat visitors, and a farewell party, nothing more has really happened. Plus, with all the "gloom & doom" reporting on everything from the NBC nightly News to CNN, I guess it really is a buyers market out there.

We've dropped the price another 5K, so the house is now priced 10K below our original asking price. And we're probably not through yet. Oh well ................ all it takes is one, that one motivated buyer.

Did I mention we had the DS&S Farewell Party? Well, we did, and it was great. Lots of old and new friends came to wish us well. If you'd like to see the T-Shirts, go to My Shagmiser Site and follow the links. It's pretty easy.

Check those links down the right hand side of this blog. There are some opportunities there to be had, plus if you take advantage of any of them, you'll be helping me stay out of the Old Shaggers Home.

TTFN ...... and we'll post here again soon.

It's been awhile - still no offers

Well, it's been awhile since I've last posted, but still no offers, which is probably why I haven't posted in awhile, 12 days to be exact. We've had a lot of showings, but just (again) a lot of lookers. But school here starts about the middle of next month, so anyone out there needing to get thier kids registered in the Richardson School District will have to get a move on if they wanted into our area.

But we've been really busy updating this house as we go. New flowers in the front yard, reconfigured and de-cluttered back den, and some other minor things to enhance the overall look of the place.

The World Launch actually launched on time, and we're now an affiliated member of VMDirect and Hello World (video email capabilities for only $9.99 a month). If you're interested doing video emails and a free 30 day account, just let me know and I'll shoot a copy of the CD out to you. But do it fast because I've only got 7 of these CD's left. Click on the hyperlinks above for full details.

Here's some other new ventures: The Free Card Matrix, DollarsPond, IGAM, and last but not least, Maryanne Myer's new Safelist (a really great deal). Also, to get more advertising bang for the buck, here are some really good resources: Traffic Hoopla, Profit Messaging, and
Mail Your Ad. All 3 are really good choices for your advertising dollar (better than PPC's anyway).

That's it for now. If anything breaks, you all will be the first to know through the here blog.

It's Over for the Fourth

We, we actually had some showings over the fourth, almost had an offer. Closest we've come yet, so maybe things are picking up. We prayed over our newly buried St. Joseph statue in the backyard, hoping that will speed things along. Never leave a stone unturned, or in this case, unburied. If you're not familiar with the story or the legend, check Cecil's Mailbag.

Our Eniva business is starting to grow. For more information on this health supplement product, called a nutraceutical, check our Eniva Website. I've also started learning about video emailing, and streaming internet videos in general. Really cool stuff, and you can learn more about it at my VMDirect website. Actually, the best place to see what's happening is Hello World. If you're like me, and are interested in the business, then check out the Ready-Set-Launch website to learn all about it. Their use of streaming video is really good.

The party planning is progressing nicely, or so they tell me. Check out the details here, and follow the links.

Some New Happenings

A couple of things are happening right now, and I just wanted you to know about them. No, we don't have an offer yet, but hopefully that will change soon. We are having another open house this coming Sunday (2 - 4) so if you're not doing anything, drop on by and make Connie an offer. We won't be there, we'll be somewhere else, maybe the park?

Anyway, what's happening is that we finally know the detail of the BePaYEBT or the DS&S Farewell Party on July 22. Click on either of the 2 links above or here to view the details. It's going to be more of an OLD HOME HAPPENING than a Farewell Party, so bring your dancing shoes and old stories and be prepared to boogie. We'll have fondly remembered videos of past events (you might even see yourself) and maybe a beach tune or 2. Plus some other surprises.

Now, here's an example of a really good marketing video that just fun to watch, especially the beginning. Check it out - Web Video Tactics.

Lots of Showings - Nothing Yet

Well, we're still showing the place, trying to keep this house in show condition, and we've actually had quite a few showings, but no takers yet. Everybody either wants a garage, which as most of you know, we don't have, or they think Melrose is too busy. I personally cannot believe these folks would rather have a garage rather than a perfectly good party room, which is what our party room used to be (a garage, follow me closely here). Would YOU want to convert a party room into a garage? I don't think so. I just can't see inviting people over to your garage for a party.

A lot of people have asked us when we're actually moving. Well, it's a sliding scale. As soon as we get a contractual offer on the house, it's 30 days. That's how long it usually takes to close, and for Sally to officially retire. When we get a contract, Sally submits her retirement papers, and the countdown starts. That's why the July 22 date for the departure party (not that old garage party) is well within our 30 day window.

Now here's something new I just got into, and it is really worthwhile checking out. It's called VMDirect from the folks that bought you HelloWorld, and it's all about Internet Video Streaming. They've got several products for Internet Video, with more to come. If you'd like to learn more, watch their promotional videos from their Passport to Freedom Website. If you'd like to learn more about the business opportunity, click on over to VMDirect or Hello World.

Also, check out my Shagmiser Blog for more mundane posts.

Price has Dropped

Well, it's now official. We've reduced the asking price by $5,000 in hopes of generating more interest. This is because of a lot of the comments we're received from showings. There is nothing so humbling as to realize that other people just don't see your abode in the same favorable light that you do. Oh, well! Reality is setting in.

On the party front, we've sent out a lot of confirmation emails. If you haven't received one, or it got lost in some spam filter, just go to the BePaYEBT site and sign up. We're using an autoresponder to initiate followup messages about our depature party, and that requires a double opt-in. It's actually a pretty slick system. If you're not sure about what an autoresponder is, nor how they work, go to an article I posted all about autoresponders.

And if you didn't know before, you now know - the DS&S Departure party is on Saturday, July 22.

Another Open House

We held another Open House yesterday, and actually had some decent traffic, even in this very hot weather. No takers yet, but this takes time, as you can well imagine. But we have started gearing up for the (now) infamous BePaYEBT Party, the Dick & Sally & Susan Swan Song Going Away Party. Just click on the hyperlink to get more info, and make sure you reserve the July 22 date.

Things are Looking Up

Just recently, we've had 2 separate couples come back for a second look. That's why things are looking up. Whether we get an offer from either remains to be seen, but the fact that their seems to be geniune interest is very encourging. I'll keep you posted as developments occur. In the meantime, "Pray for Surf" and other good things.

I've also built a really simple splash page to post details about the upcoming BePaYEBT Party, so book mark it. Also, we started an email campaign to keep you up to date on goings on, so if you haven't received your confirmation email yet, jump on over to the BePa YEBT site and register.

AAAACH - The Dreaded 06/06/06

I've actually had a pretty rewarding day, despite the dire warnings of the triple sixes. Unfortunately, no nibbles on the house yet. Lots of Lookie-Loos, no Lookie-Offers. But, Hey, it's only been a little over 3 weeks, and it is a buyers market out there. Patience can be its own reward.

If you're looking for a really easy way to make some residual income, with little to no hassle, then go take a look at my Set & Forget site. Simon Ussher has outdone himself on this one.

My Birthday's next week, so I'm ramping down for the inevitable. But BLT & CB are still ahead of me, so I cannot complain. However, Joey the G is still the baby of the family. OK - OK - Just one more. Here's a GREAT Hosting system, Third Sphere.

Updated Profile - Pictures from the Past

Nothing new to report, except that my sister Melissa & her husband Joe have finally decided to move to Texas (just when we're about to leave Texas, go figure). But they've sold their Miami house and should be in Austin by the 4th of July.

I had planned on linking to some really cool pictures, the montages, mostly from the past 28 years or so we've lived here, but ran out of time. As soon as I've got them posted, I'll leave a message in this blog, so keep checking back.

I've done some minor updates to the profile, plus added a pic or 2. Also, if you're interested in a great hosting plan, check out Kiosk.ws and my article on hosting basics. Now, if you're really up for learning everything there is to know about online and internet marketing, then Success University is the way to go.

Lots of Showings - No Takers as Yet

This house is looking really good right now, and we're trying really hard to keep it that way. We've had a lot of showings, but no offer as yet. Once we get that contract, it's the start of our 30 day countdown window. Since I don't have a lot to say this time around, I'll keep this short.

BTW - we still have some pieces of "heavy" stuff yet to move, so visit our Furniture For Sale website to see if there's anything there you'd like (if you live in the DFW area).

BTW #2 - If you'd like to see where it is we're headed, I've republished the original "beach house website" for those of you who never had a chance to view the pictures we originally published the first time around.

Open House

Well boys and girls,

We had an open house yesterday, and it went really well, lots of interested people, just no takers as yet. But we're still out there, promoting. Don't forget, if any of you reading this blog know of someone interested in moving to our neat little area (heavily wooded, down the street from J.J. Pierce High School and Mohawk Elementary), pass this blog on and tell them pictures of our house can be found at the Coldwell Banker hyperlink on the right hand side. We're in well established neighborhood with a voluntary Homeowner's Association, walking distance to a great park, and really close to some major shopping (Sam's, Home Depot, Wal*Mart, and on & on). And, most importantly, we're priced to sell.

BTW, we still have some cool stuff to sell, so check us out at Furniture 4 Sale.

Here's our fluid timeline for gettin' gone to the beach

Once we actually get a contract on the Richardson home, it will probably take about 30 days to actually close. That's when the actual countdown begins. Ideally we'd like to be loaded and packed and ready to roll at closing (yeah, right).

Here are some of Dicks Cool Little Website active links, also worth investigation.

No New Website

After reviewing Coldwel Banker's website for our little Richarson, TX house, there's really no need for me to build a separate site, so I'm going to depend on Connie Thomas's Listing to do the trick.

And while you're at it, check out also Dick's Cool Little Website for the latest in hypersensitive link attitudes.

We've accomplished the First Step

Well, we've finally put our house on the market, the Richardson, TX house. That's the first step in our move to the beach. Check the Coldwell Banker site, and our listing should be out there.

I am also building a separate picture site, so check back here often and I'll post when it is ready.
