We're actually getting settled in a bit

The drive out was extremely difficult and stressful, but we made it, the sun's finally out, and we're trying to get settled in. Most of the boxes have been either opened and emptied, or moved to storage, along with some of the pieces we couldn't sell before we left. But we're getting there.

Saw our first Christmas Boat Parade last night - really cool. Our buddy Sandy invited us over and we watched it from her back deck. I took some video's and when I figure how to post it here, I'll do just that (a highly edited version, just for you all).

Thanksgiving went very well, just family. Everybody pitched in to make at least 1 dish. Our very first Bird@thebeach.

Sally's headed back to Dallas tomorrow, Susan's already started at Dillards (she worked Black Friday), Carrie's back at the Aquarium, and me(?), I'm trying to finish up all the unpacking and get back into the groove.

Now you all can help - sign up for a newly created pre-launch site that's free and can earn you points towards ownership. I'll let them eplain it all at http://www.taketheinternetback.com/index.php?refId=5603

We're Here

After 3 days of ardous driving 2 trucks, each hauling an SUV (my Pathfinder and Susan's Escort), through driving rain, and whizzing semi's, we finally made it, and we're here @thebeach. We offloaded both trucks yesterday, and now the equally arduous taks of unpacking begins. What a treat. I'll post again when I have more time.

We're Almost Gone

Yep! The truck's coming tomorrow morning, and we're gonna get all packed up. Sunday is for house stuff and minor catchups, Monday's closing, then we're outta here. Remember, Sally is still here, staying with Cynthia, through the first of the year.

We just wanted to say good-bye to everyone who reads this and that we've known oh these many years. 28 years in Dallas, 23 years in this Richardson house. That's quite a gig for me, knowing I used to move once every 18 months growing up an Air Force brat. That's why I call myself a "Native of Earth."

For me, personally, I just wanted to says thanks to all you all. The friendships and support, the pool parties, cook-offs, dinner parties (Jan's 40th the best ever), ski trips, Christmas parties, gab fests, and trips to ^H2O. Fondue parties, trips to Austin, trips to Cabo, pretend shaggin', and the infrequest road trips.

What a ride it's been. And even though we're moving to a place (the beach) we've really wanted to retire to, it's going to be difficult leaving all you all. This town, the traffic, the pace, we ain't gonna miss all that much, well, maybe the good Tex-Mex. But all the people and friends, most definitely. So, TTFN, or Ta Ta For Now, and we'll talk again soon.

I'll keep this blog going once we get there to catch everyone up on the trip, the move, and other odds and ends. See you @thebeach.

Closing is now set - D3

November 13th is D3, Done Deal Day. We're in the midst of boxing and packing 23 years+ of STUFF. But I'm taking time out to post this so's we can all catch up a little.

Sally's staying here for awhile (till after the first of the year) to max out her AA bennies, but Suz & I are headed to the beach, probably the on D3 itself. The Saturday B4 is for truck loading and final packing. Then final walk through's and memory trips.
And that's not all, as the S&S girls welcome you to our home at the beach, Susan will be joining the MYR Dillard's, so beach shopping is a major option.

As a repeat from the previous blog entry, if you don't have our new beach address please send me an email & I'll send it to you. I don't want to post it here, for obvious reasons.

That's it for now - we'll talk again.
